RS1-Stolen University (Salix Judging)

As the guards patrol the Minister of Education suddenly appears among them. "Gentlemen, my experiments here are complete. Join me at University house in five minutes. Transportation for our departure is arranged. The Resolutes have compromised our communications so do not trust anything you hear over the radio. I will inform our colleagues and meet you there." His message delivered the Minister vanishes from sight.

From his vantage atop the roof Mr Jones considers the motto, if at first you don't succeed try, try again. Perhaps the ploy had a better chance now he had actually met the Minister.

Create an Illusionary Minister to try and trick the guards.
Bluff the force field guards. (1d20+12=32)

:> A good time for a 20 perhaps? But I suspect it will still be nasty when Zenji and Dr A get there.[/sblock]

Zenji shrugs and, saying, "Well, you're the doctor" proceeds to levitate Jim.

[sblock=ooc]Sorry, I've just got a complete mental block lately.[/sblock]

With is ESP Mr. Jones can see the heavilly armed guards level weapons at the Ministers image, slowly letting them down as it disappears as rapidly as it appeared. They look at each other, apparently not saying anything. Finally one of the patrolling guards heads out of the room while the other five hold position.

Zenji and Dr. Archeville (with Jim in tow) cross the campus, passing between the library and the science building. As they go up the path toward the Computer Science and Engineering bulding they can see a heavilly armed guard crossing the field below them and two "ordinary" guards standing in front of the entrace.

[sblock=Shoulder Daemons]Sooo... why are we carrying this mook? He's just slowing us down!

That "mook" has a name, and since we're the one who hurt him, he's our responsibility.

Uh hunh... so why's the kid carrying him, and not us?

Because Zenji can carry Jim more easily... and because if he were to carry the laptop, he'd likely toss it aside and break it at the first sign of trouble.

Ah, yes, the Minister's laptop... oh, what goodies there might be inside! Notes on his experiments, gene sequences, protein configurations...

Letters to his daughter, the Major....

Feh. Still, since the laptop is kinda unwieldy, might it be better to pop out the hard drive and stash it in a labcoat pocket? That way, if the laptop itself is damaged, the Minister's files will be safe.

That's... actually not a bad idea. We'll likely need these files if we're to understand just what he did, and reverse it if anyone wants to. Oh, crap, we need Archer's notes, too!

Tsk, tsk, how easily you forget our eidetic memory. Though, speaking of Archer, I wonder if he's awoken from his serum-induced coma yet....

I hope not... hate to think what'd happen if he did, amongst all those cops... or while at a hospital full of innocents![/sblock]

Archeville points out the guards to Zenji*, "looks like zhe Minster's guards are still in force. Likely more in zhe building, too. I hit 'em high, you hit 'em low?"

OOC: Would Archeville have had time, on the walk over, to pop out the hard drive from the laptop and stow it in his labcoat pocket, then close it back up so it looks normal?

Yes, it wouldn't be hard for Archeville to do that

OOC: w00t!

Archeville activates both the force field and flight functions of his gravimetric belt, and unholsters his blaster. "Er.... you might should prop Jim up against zhat bike-rack zhere... keep him out of zhe line of fire..."

The stage magician still sits on his roof top perch, his senses separated from his body. Why did they not say anything he wonders, has the minister given them some kind of mental link? It looked like that. Perhaps that is something I can use. His mind made up he acts.

Each of the remaining five guards suddenly starts to hear voices in his head, as though the others are talking to him. "Hey, why did we let him go." "I should have gone to investigate." "No, You are the boss's favorite, I should have gone." "Stop arguing, lets just do as we agreed." "No we should get out of here" "What are you talking about, coward!" "I'm no coward, traitor." "What's that in the corner?" "Nothing, theres nothing there." "We should boil them all." "Who? What are you talking about." "The one with yellow stockings, we should boil, him in a bag." "You crazy fool, you've really flipped now."
