Ruins of the Dragonlord - Thoughts?

Why don't they just get Ed from Skeleton Key Games? I mean, he's in essence the standard these days no? From Necromancer to Everquest, I think Ed's had a hand there. Or Brian from Dark Furies.

Maps can be more than functional, they can be art! :D

The problem with this reasoning is that there are very few *good* cartographers in the industy. Hiring them means you pay a premium price and most have their schedules completely filled with work for some time to come. Believe me, I wish all products had better maps. But finding good ones that have spare time, are fast, and won't kill your art budget are hard to come by. :)

Bad maps eh? Weren't there similiar complaints about the map quality in their other campaign series, the Drow War?
And that's the kicker for me.

I start my adventure product judgement with the maps - if they aren't good quality, I won't even look at the rest of the book. It gets an immediate 'no sale' from me.

And now for the cheap shot at Mongoose

Or use another company's maps and pass them off at their own.

This cheap shot brought to you by Joe G Kushner and made possible by Mongoose Publishing. :p
