D&D 5E Rules Question about Bigby's Hand

It ocupies a space but doesn't fill it. And we have to remember that playing with grids is an optional rule, so not every Large object fills a 10x10 square. I'd say if the hand can reconfigure it's position to go trhough the space it can, and would not be squeezing
Every Large creature occupies a 10 ft. by 10 ft. space, wether you use grid or not. Most creatures don't fill their spaces though unless noted otherwise (such as a gelatinous cube) for object though i'm not sure if rules say they fill it or not but Bigby's Hand doesn't anyway.

So... Looking at it. It says the hand is Large with a capital L. That indicates it means creature size. However it mimics the movements of your hand and -explicitly- does not fill its space in the spell description.

Which means while it is large sized in it's largest dimension, it is not traditionally large sized.

So I would rule that you could move it down a 5ft corridor without "Squeezing", so long as you made an appropriate Sleight of Bigby's Hand skill check.
My compromise would be that it can flatten out to be only 5x10x10 feet, but not 5x5 in any dimension - so it could fit down a corridor with a 5x10 foot cross-section, but not a 5x5 foot cross-section.

I tend to a more lax rule interpretation.
Yeah, to me that's the fun (or part of the fun) in DMing. Being thrown a curve ball and having to make sense of it.

I should mension that this is probably not RAW. But 5e is all about rullings, and I think that's a fair rulling for a hihg level spell.

Yeah, if the corridor isn't tall or wide enough for the might of the paper formation the hand can't go trough!
