D&D 3E/3.5 "Rules: Saiyans 3.5" by Anubis

At various points I'll most likely stat out the following:

Goku from DBZ Saiyan Saga
Vegeta from DBZ Saiyan Saga
Future Trunks from DBZ Cell Games
Gohan from DBZ Kid Buu Saga
Goku from DBZ Kid Buu Saga
Vegeta from DBZ Kid Buu Saga
Goten/Trunks/Gotenks from DBZ Fusion Saga

In fact, for Goten/Trunks/Gotenks, I intend to illustrate how the fusion dance converts to 3.5! :D

Knowledge (fusion)
Potarra Earrings

These two allow fusion.

Stay tuned!

I've been tuning! When will I see the benefits of the tuning?

Some questions about this otherwise-excellent formatting.

Saiyan, Giant Form
Medium Giant (Shapechanger)

Why call it "giant form" since a saiyan's normal form looks almost exactly like a human? For that matter, why use the giant type? Monstrous humanoid seems better, since they get BAB equal to their hit dice that way.

Removing the tail of the Oozaru also causes the Saiyan to change back to his or her normal form.

I'd recommend having this mimic the rules for removing the head of a hydra, save for the tail having maybe 1/10 the saiyan's total hit points.

Knowledge (ki)

Just curious, where can I find more on this?

Also, I'd recommend that you make Knowledge (ki) a class skill for saiyans as a race, since they seem naturally inclined towards it.

I'd also recommend adding a racial ability to saiyans that their BAB and saves for class levels do NOT use the epic class progression, but instead accumulate normally for the class even after they gain 20 hit dice/levels. You may want this to only apply to saiyans and half-saiyans.

Full-Power Super Saiyan [Saiyan] [Epic]
You have mastered the Super Saiyan transformation, and it has become second-nature for you.
Prerequisites: Ability to transform into a Super Saiyan, character level 43rd+ (character level 34th+ for Half-Saiyans born before his Saiyan parent became a Super Saiyan, character level 26th+ for Half-Saiyans born after his Saiyan parent became a Super Saiyan), 2nd-Grade Super Saiyan, Ultra Super Saiyan.
Benefit: You no longer take any nonlethal damage while transformed into a Super Saiyan, allowing you to sustain that form indefinitely.
Normal: A Saiyan normally takes 1d6 points of nonlethal damage per round he remains as a Super Saiyan.
Special: This feat does not apply to 2nd-Grade Super Saiyan, Ultra Super Saiyan, or Super Saiyan transformations beyond that of Super Saiyan.

I'd recommend having variants of this feat for 2nd-Grade Super Saiyan, Ultra Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan 2. The reasoning here is that, although the anime/manga shows Goku and Gohan being able to remain as Super Saiyans normally for long periods of time, logic dictates that would be applied to the aforementioned states also.

2nd-Grade and Ultra are just variations of the first transformation; sacrificing speed for power - if you can sustain the first transformation indefinately, you should be able to for them also. Likewise, Goku explains that Super Saiyan 3 generates so much power it can't be held longer than thirty minutes...this seems to imply that Super Saiyan 2, like Super Saiyan 1, can be indefinately held.

Empower Ki [Ki]
You have learned how to use your ki to make yourself for powerful.
Prerequisites: Con 19, Energy Manipulation, Knowledge (ki) 10 ranks.
Benefit: As a full-round action, you may use your ki to give yourself a +1 ki bonus to attack and damage, saving throws, the DC of an ability set (arcane spells, divine spells, ki attacks, and so on), Strength skills, Dexterity skills, Constitution skills, or AC. You may spend multiple rounds to stack the effects of this extraordinary ability. The effects of this feat may be dropped as a free action. Beginning on the round after your finish powering yourself up with this feat, for each instance of this feat that is active, you take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage per round.

Enhance Ki [Ki] [Epic]
You have learned how to use your ki to make yourself for powerful without harming yourself as much.
Prerequisites: Con 27, Energy Manipulation, Epic Energy Manipulation, Knowledge (ki) 25 ranks.
Benefit: As Empower Ki, except you only take a total of 20 points of nonlethal damage per round as long as your total bonus does not exceed your character level.

It seems odd that Enhance Ki does "only" 20 points of nonlethal damage when the feat it's comparing itself to does 1d6 nonlethal damage.

Also, while I understand that nonlethal damage here is being used to mimic how ki can be used up in battle, the nonlethal damage values here seem excessively high. Given that a character with nonlethal damage falls unconscious when they equal or exceed his current hit points, this means that a saiyan will virtually always end a battle unconscious against foes of relatively equal (or greater) power. Given the large "death's door" range, this means that they'll rather easily be exceptionally vulnerable to just being whacked while unconscious down to the bottom of their hit points, and then hit with a coup de grace or death knell.

Enhance Ki is better than Empower Ki because as soon as you raise the Ki bonus to +7 or higher, you go from 7d6+ to a flat 20, which is a savings.

To find the rest of the Ki stuff, arrange threads by thread starter and look for anubis' stuff.

I don't think Anubis is around on EN World anymore. At least the "last seen" indicates that he isn't. And if you check his recent posts, it seems kinda like he is going to take a vacation.

Hi all! :)

I spoke with Anubis last night on msn. Hes in fine spirits and has a number of things on the go, but says he might start a DBZ thread on wizards own forums (hes banned from here) in a few days time if he gets a chance.

If so, I'll post a link herein to the thread in question. ;)

Hiya mate! :)

He's banned? Wow. What'd he do? I missed it.

Well I don't know the full story...but what I do know is he was warned from posting in a certain thread by a moderator after the discussion became a bit heated (I think Anubis called someone 'insane' for disagreeing with his logic and that caused an uproar from some thin-skinned poster who reported him). Anubis posted anyway, even though in his eyes it was to 'clear the air', and the moderators permanently banned him on the spot. Personally I thought it was a bit harsh to permanently ban him with no prior warning of such a punishment. I mean he deserved a temporary ban (only an idiot posts in a thread after the moderator explicitly warns him not to), but a permanent ban, I don't think so.
