Hah, Jake, you would've been pissed. One of the PCs had just leveled up and gained (using the EOM-Modern rules I'm playtesting) the ability to use telekinesis. The PCs are cruising along behind the armored car in their BMW, trying to line up shots against the tires, when the hatch at the top of the armored car opens up.
A man heaves a mini-gun up onto the roof of the armored car, then starts to climb up so he can shoot.
In the BMW, the aforementioned PC (who was dressed as a knight in full plate because they were at a costume party) manages to cast a telekinesis spell and yank the mini-gun off the roof into his hands. The force snaps the ammo-feed chain, leaving the mini-gun with only 10 bullets. Still, the knight PC pats the gun contentedly. If he never gets treasure again, he'll be happy, because he's got a BFG.
Then the NPC in the armored car finally pulls himself up, only to see his mini-gun gone and in the hands of a PC. He curses and flips off the PC in armor, then tosses a grenade at the car in spite. The grenade gets tossed out at the last second, and the knight takes aim and fires.
He rolls a natural 1. The gun shakes itself out of his hands and nearly falls onto the road before he grabs it. All the bullets do is destroy a few streetlamps.
So yeah, sadly no mini-gun for you. But you did toss a few grenades, then blow out one of the BMW's tires on the freeway. The cars both came to a stop, and you staggered out of the back of the truck, wearing full tactical body armor, holding a shotgun and a belt of grenades.
You got to do you nice

monologue. The knight got out of the car and rolled some miraculously high attack rolls to crit you with his sword, and then you fired a shotgun blast into his crotch, dropping him. A few pistol shots plinked at you, and you tossed a grenade under the BMW, blowing out another tire and nearly crippling the car. You were about to carjack someone off the freeway when the psychic British driver of the BMW got you in the throat with a pistol shot.
Thing is, they had to get their buddy medical attention, so they didn't spare the time to curb check you. I smell recurring villain!
