Rune Stryders presents a fantasy world where anyone can use runes to create magical effects. People kill to discover new runes as magic is not only deadly, but also powers hulking war machines called stryders. Some are organic in nature, others are steel constructs, and still others are assembled from bits and bones.
The world is on the brink of all-out-war, and the only hope for preventing total chaos are the mighty Rune Stryders and their gifted pilots. From the steel-clad behemoths of the Confederated Nations to the living, walking trees of the Kantarin, or the scavenged piles of bones and skulls of the primitive Draslander, these towering war machines are brought to life by runic magic. This same magic can be used to cast deadly spells simply by speaking or writing runes or combinations of runes. Many die in their pursuit of unique new runes, while others are content to wield that which they understand.
Complete, yet flexible and easy to learn rules combined with templates for creating both characters and stryders, provide plenty of room for customization. There are no classes to restrict you, although limits may still be set. Its modular yet consistent design means that you can easily switch between man-to-man combat, Stryder combat, Stryder-to-man combat, tactical Stryder combat, and Rune combat.
