Running an "Atlantis" style adventure?

Tinker Gnome

Adventurer
When I say an "Atlantis" style adventure I mean as in The lost city of Atlantis type city. Ya know the one that vanished mysteriously and was usually close to or in water. I will be running this in the Forgotten Realsm though, and quite a while from now too. So I was thinking of having them be versed in the sciences and technology, but I would try to describe it so that it does not seem like advanced technology. I would try to make it seem a lot like magic to them. Has anyone here ever run an adventure like this? If so how did it go? I would like to hear other experiences. :)

FWIW Monte Cooke's Chaositech is something you might want to take a look at. "Not quite magic but not quite technology" fits the concepts within the book very well.

Of course it might your Atlantis look more a bit like the Splugorth from RIFTS, so it all depends on the "feel" you are looking for.

A poster named Sir Elton was working on an Atlantis adventure several months ago. I don't know the current status, he had a hard drive crash if I remember, so he may have lost all his work on it.

Nope. :) It's not an adventure, it's a campaign setting.
