Running maptools on an Ipad

First Post
Yes folks I was able to run Maptools on an ipad.
Here is how I did it and what you need.

Computer with the correct os running on it. Mine was a laptop with xp prof.
wifi conection ( of course).
and the RDP( remote Desktop by MochaSoft) app. ( first download the lite version to make sure that you can connect.)

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE APPS OS REQUIREMENTS !!!!

Step one
Turn on the computer and set the energy to never sleep.
Make sure the remote connection is turned on.
I leave my computer plugged in so I always have power.

Step Two
Follow the setup instructions for the app.
And then connect. That simple.

Once your connected you can run any program you have on the computer.

When you connect the laptop screen will change to the login screen. don't worry this is normal.

THE LITE VERSION ONLY LETS YOU CONNECT AND DOESN"T HAVE MOUSE USE.
This is a test version only. The paid version will let you do the mouse and other things.

Once I had the maptools running I tried the VGA adapter on the ipad and was able to project thru my projector. Another win for this app.
If you have any question please ask.

Am I reading this right ? Its not running on the ipad at all but on a laptop and you have just used a remote desktop.

With that kind of thinking you can run any app on the laptop and thus on the ipad via the remote desktop. So its not a plus for the app at all but one for the remote desktop software.

That aside, I think that its cool to know it can be done that way.

the remote desk top software is the app. you don't down load anything on the laptop. Where I make a statement about a plus for the app is that it has vga out.
Making it possable to run a projected image from a projector. I basicly did this just to see if it was possable. I hadn't heard of anyone trying this yet so I decided to give it a try. Maybe this will get some app creator an idea for an app just for maptools.
