Russian campaign setting?

I remember seeing somewhere a d20 publisher putting out either a module or a full-fledged Russian-themed campaign setting.

Does anybody know what it was?

I believe it was WOTC themselves, in Dungeon Magazine. I think it was more than one issue, but issue #89 comes to mind. Also, I believe several Dragon issues covered it.

<does a quick google search>

Yeah, here it is:
Red Sails: Bright Sun, Mother Earth Dragon #290 (Dec 2001)
Red Sails: Fell and Forlorn Bestiary: Monsters of Eastern Europe Dragon #290 (Dec 2001)
Red Sails: Tempests on the Steppes Dragon #290 (Dec 2001)

I would bet there are more modules and campaign setting info out there as well.

Whatever it is, I think I saw it in a gaming store too (some kind of russian-themed d20 campaign/module), though I forget the specifics since I only browsed through it.

In dungeon 89, there's Rivers of Blood, the Red Sails based adventure that Mistwell was referring to.

Though not specifically russian, Armistice in Dungeon 84 would fit seemlessly into such a campaign.

i have GURPS Russia and it is an excellent resource for gaming in the (pre-modern) Russian world. like most GURPS supplements, it's fairly light on rules and heavy on usuable content, so i'm sure you would find plenty to steal from it for a d20 Russian campaign.

besides, S. John Ross is one of my favorite game designers! :p

Monkey God Games has a module on a Russia based setting. I forget the name.

If you are lucky Avalanche Press will do a historical Russia setting along with the other historical/mythical d20 ones they have put out.

For nond20 there is

Gurps Russia

Ars Magica has Dragon and Bear (available in print from atlas games and in pdf from rpgnow)

And D&D2e had the module, sourcebook Dancing hut of Baba Yaga for Russia's most famous inhabitant.

Oh, and White Wolf has the adventure Rage across Russia for their modern werewolf setting.

Look in the d20 reviews guide for the Monkey God module.

Not d20 but...

...easy to use if you've been following AEG's Swashbuckling Adventures line. Just go pick up a copy of Ussura for the 7th Sea game. It's pretty complete in and of itself, and shouldn't be too hard to use as a DnD setting.
