D&D 5E Rust Monster Preview

I wonder why it says "...corrodes an object it can see within five feet...", then talks about touching it the rest of the time.

Not a big deal, just wonder if there is a nuance I'm missing or just a typo.

Just awkward wording. It means the antennae make the touch, and they have a 5ft reach.

Seems reasonable for its CR, avoids silly arguments. Opens up an option for those in the group with nonmagical stuff to flee while the one guy with a magic item steps up to cope. Sure.

People can make a high level version that affects magic, or make it a more unique effect, but seems like a solid basis for something typically encountered at level 1.

So the rust monster can locate ferrous items by scent, but can't rust them if they're invisible because of standard boilerplate "one item it can see"text?

The fact it can't bite and use it's antennae in the same turn is kinda lame IMO, I would have made the antennae ability a bonus action.

But besides that I like the monster as is.
