S3: The Scythe of Seto (Bront Judging)[Completed]

Beamer actually does have a chess piece. He picked up a black bishop after destroying the wounded gargoyle with his magic missile. As a reminder, everyone except Banion has at least one. Ogrin has a pawn, Eusebius has the queen, and Rasereit has, er, 2 knights, a bishop, a rook, 3 pawns and the black king.

------------
Banion manages to strike the panel with his mindblade. The adjacent door slides open, and stays open for about 2 seconds, then closes again. Beyond, Banion can only see another secion of beige hallway.

-----------
The door in front of Ogrin slides open with a noise soundling like a hiss of air. Directly beyond this door, Ogrin sees what appears to be the back of a statue. The statue seems to be of a human woman. It is of very high quality. The woman is young and beautiful from the back, with hair down past her feet. She is nude and standing on what seems to be the bottom half of an oyster shell. It is all carved from white marble, apparently.

Beyond this statue is a corridor or small room. Ogrin can't really tell. All he can really see from where he stands is a beige wall about 15 feet beyond the statue.
-------------
Beamer looks closely at the deck before drawing. There appear to be about 16 cards. He draws a card. Eusebius holds his breath, waiting for something to happen. THe card is the Ace of Spades.

This card shows a black and a white chesspiece king in the center. The white king is winking and looks to be enjoying himself. The black king looks stern and angry.

Beamer's face twitches as he stares at the card. Then he puts it down.

I sent you a 'visitor message', Slag.

Banion will move defensively, aproaching the panel, slapping it and diving through. He will try to avoid engaging in an actual fight, and will instead try to duck past the creature using speed and agility.

Rasereit shouts in surprise as the world plunges into total darkness. When the lights turn back on, Rasereit straps his shield tightly and crouches, waiting for some enemy to appear. When nothing happens, he calls for the others loudly, making a racket on the walls and with his shield.

His other options exhausted, he looks at the door before him. Seeing the two pictures, he thinks, "Ah've had enough o' big things wit' sticks. These two look happy together, 'haps they're in need of a third wheel." He smiles to himself as he reaches for the panel, when suddenly the single stick figure vanishes. Surprised again, Rasereit jumps and a shiver runs down his spine. He looks over his shoulders warily, then shrugs and presses firmly on the panel with his fist still closed around his axe.

Beamer gets a far away look for a moment before setting down the Ace. He feels somehow different, but is not sure just how. He just knows that something's ... changed.

He looks at the imp and says, "Well, enough playing for now, I think. We need to find the others. Eusebius, through the door we go?" he asks.

OOC: Oh, yeah, I forgot about that chess piece. Thanks for the reminder.

The Imp looks questioningly at Beamer. "What was it? What happened?"

He continues. "Don't you want to draw again? There's some great stuff in there!"
If Beamer & Eusebius decline, hw offers up the white King to Beamer. "Well take you prize then. Congrats on winning the game."

-------------
When Banion starts moving towards the door, the statue shifts, raising its sword, and says in a deep, flat voice, "None shall pass!"

---------------
The door in front of Razh opens. An odd sight greets him. He seems to have entered a hall of mirrors. Reflctions gaze back at him, some short and wide, others tall and hourglass shaped, others normal. He thinks he sees where he could walk through an opening.

Rasereit looks at the scene before him, considering his options. He looks at a mirror, then at his axe, then back at the mirror... And then he shakes his head. He presses against a couple mirrors with his fist before entering the opening.
