By the way I didn't say that we instantly give the sinergy bonuses just for having the skill trained, didn't seem so game-breaking to me.

I've talked today with one of my players, and he had an interesting idea.

Every 3 levels every class gains a bonus feat from this list: Skill Training, Skill Focus or Read/Write Language.

He pointed out that to avoid abuse from this rule, you forbid players from taking the same feat two times in a row, for an example, you could not take Skill Training at level 3 and again Skill Training at level 6, you'd have to choose either Skill Focus or Read/Write Language.

What do you think?

that sounds like a little much really. wouldn't mind giving the bard an extra lang every 3 levels though.I would also kill synergy's they seem to be more trouble then there worth.is there issue with not haveing enuff skills or not haveing something to fiddle with ya think?

Maybe a bit of both ;)

What's to much? The general rule or the fact that Read/Write Language is a possible bonus feat?

I'm fine with the lang .the skill focus is a bit much for free. Ive been thinking of doing something like this with alpha dont know if I will however

skills at level 1
All class have 4 skills +INT mod at 1st
Bards,Rangers and Rouges have 6 skills + INT mod at 1st level

Now also all Pc class get a sub set of skills chosen from this list
Each class gets 2+ INT mod of sub skills
Interest skills
List
Acrobatics
climb
deception
Knowledge[all]
Handle animal
languages
preform
profession
ride
survival
swim

now the mods for the skills are
*untrained 1d20 +Ability mod +racial mod
*Interest 1d20 +ability mod +racial mod +level
*Trained 1d20 +3 +Ability mod +racial mod +level
*Trained cross skills 1d20 +3+Ability mod +racial mod+ 1/2 level

just somethin i've been thinking on to give pc's some childhood skills.

oh and I made an alpha skills pdf if paizo has a prob with it I shall kill it at once.you may find it here http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/pathfinder_rpg_group/ as always love to here feed back

I like it, even if I would tweak it a little in some points I mentioned earlier. Like the fact that I like the level or level/2 to apply to every skill that can be used untrained.

The thing I like the most is the "interest" skills... kinda like the Universal skills in 4e, It seems logical that some skills are not restricted to class skills alone.

I still have to talk to the rest of my players, which will be impossible before the weekend.

The ones I did talk with told me the 3 lvl rule is much to their liking, so maybe the differences in thoughts about it is because differences in play style... I'm pretty sure otherwise my players would never take skill focus as a feat, ever. Yeah, I know it sounds dumb, but hey...

By the way, would you prefer the rule if it just didn't have skill focus between it's possible selections?

ty on the interest skills just a random ideal i had today glad ya liked.what would you suggest altering ?
and yes remove skill focus i think. so your thinking a new skill/lang 3/6/9/12 and so on right?
I just feel the an extra +3 for free a bit much. maybe a +1 or 2 then again if there giveing up a skill the +3 isnt so bad i was thinking you was gonna give them that + new skills.

Nope, they'll have to choose either gaining a new class skill or improve one they already have.

On the topic of the "interest skills" I'll give it more thought later... but I'll probably use them as some kind of "Universal skills", skills that anybody, independent of profession, can learn, like the Knowledge skills... for example, I'm a psychologist, but I also hold my ground pretty well on History, even If It's not my professional field.
