Sahak of the nine colors! Spells and stuff.

Well, you know what the Steam one does. No further mention required.

The Lightning Grafts are somewhat inspired by Frankenstein and some of the Electric inventions used when Electricity was brand new :)
The Lightning Grafts still use a power source, the Lightning Generator. Examples of these grafts are: Magnetic Deflector (a powered magnet repels attack and makes it harder to people in armor to come close) Empowered Fury (Uses lightning to power and awaken dead muscles, giving the undead strength and speed for a short duration of time). The Lightning Grafts use charges, which they take from the Lightning Generator. The charges are sucked from a Lightning Seed, a small electric orb placed in the generator. The Lightning Seed can be replaced as a full round action, so the generator doesnt need to be replaced when its empty.

The Lifeseed Grafts use power distilled from dying sentient creatures. It uses charges, as the Lightning Grafts do. All the powers associated with Lifeseed Grafts are evil and necromantic. One of the lesser ones is a Wand Socket, which enables the grafted undead to remove one arm and place a socket in its place, a socket the Necromancer can use to place a wand in. The undead will then be able of using the Wand for combat, without having to use verbal commands etc.

Sounds cool:

Steam - Mechanical wings (gains fly speed 30', clumsy, also gets -1 to natural armor/ or -2 to Dex)

Lightning - static discharger (allows undead to make a ranged touch attack once every 1d4 rounds, dealing 2d8 points of electricity damage, ability has a range of 60', uses up an arm slot)

Lifeseed - Vampiric Graft (allows undead to drain 1d4 points of con with a successful grapple check to heal 2d8 points of damage to self, very popular with intelligent undead, *VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN*)

Sounds good?

Good ideas, come with more as your mind gets around to inventing them :)

I think the Mechanical Wings would infringe on something I was planning on for the Lightning Grafts, a kind of Hover device that allows the undead to replace its legs with a hover disc that allows it to move across the ground, the device giving of a slighty humming sound from the electricity. But, the Mechanical Wings would still work, since it would be somewhat different (and clumsier).

Static Discharger is good, each attack would drain perhaps 2 charges (The Lightning Generator has two slots for Lightning seeds. The smallest kind of Lightning Seed provides 20 charges and thea greater version provides 50). Perhaps cooldown time should be fixed 2 or 3 rounds. Damage and range are good. I was thinking of making something akin to Shocking Grasp, but ranged attack sounds better.

The Vampiric Graft is cool, you could really make some horrible undead elite troops. Imagine a group of intelligent undead, perhaps Intelligent Ghouls with a few fighter classes on top, riding undead steeds and being equipped with the Vampire Graft. Would make a really cool opposite to standard, good-natured cavalry. Heavy horsemen of the undead

I have a few Grafts that dont require power modules. Well, two actually- Leathered Body and Ironed Body. Both provide AC bonus and give 1 or 2 extra hp / HD. The Ironed Body takes a long time to make, it requires the necromancer to remove the bones of the undead one by one, covering them in iron protection and putting the back in. After that, the body of the undead is covered by iron plates and rings that are sewn directly unto the skin.

What if the undead lacks skin, like say a lich?

Also, another steam powered:

Breach Engine - Replaces both arms, allows the undead to deal 3d6 points of damage against structures, but deals normal slam damage in combat.

Later,

Well, you can find other ways of grafting plates and armor unto a creature. Its really up to the DM what creatures can and cannot be enhanced. But, it does give Arcane Spell Failure, so the Lich wouldnt be interested :)

Cool idea about the Breach Engine. You seem to have gotten the spirit of the Steam Grafts pretty well nailed, high powered, combat use Grafts for your local undead army.

In my opinion, good role-playing books provide good material. Great role-playing books provide good good material AND inspires players and DMs to make even more material themselves. I was kinda hoping that the Grafts give players & DMs inspiration for creating their own, based on their campaigns.

Well, I will definetly consider buying the book, In fact I will buy the book if my name is in the special thanks section (like it is in the Tome of Horrors, yay me!)

As for other grafts, I will probably think of something ;)

Well, cant say that im glad to hear that. I actually asked mr. Hound if he minded that I posted alot the material on the boards, and he said that it more often helped sales than prevent them, even if half of the material in the book has already been posted. I can see the point, since people will know about what is in the book and some will even have given contributions and assistance. I am getting Immortals Handbook, ill love to see if any of the things I talked about to Upper_Krust is in there :)

Also, posting things on the board helps them to become more evaluated and balanced. Instead of them being flawed or broken, people have had a chance to comment on them, helping me making them better game-mechanic wise.

Off course, youll be thanked. I already have a few people who deserve thanks in the book.

Well, then fire away, if there is anything I'm good at, it's providing constructive critizism (well, that and proving biology teachers wrong :p)

Another graft idea:

Ripper Graft (steam) - Gives the affected undead massive steamdriven claws that deal 1d12 points of slashing damage each (think chainsaw when I said claws.) of course, the undead cannot weild weapons and gets a reduced str score (-2 to str). Takes up two arm slots.

Later,

Good one, I think I would go for reduced Dex though (as most other Steam Grafts reduce dex as well).
Ill send you a sample of the stuff I have got so far, once I get some more typed in by tomorrow. Im typing in the Mechanical Wings as of now :)

I kinda find the idea fun, getting Grafts to tamper around with the critters, as a DM.
