Galvich crosses her arms and turns her body away. She peeks over her shoulder to read over the contract just in case as well.

Investigation: [2] + 2 = 4

I guess nobody is actually going to discern this damnable contract, huh?

That's three of you now. Obviously the Infernal contract provided by this Devil here in the prison plane of Carceri is totes a fair and equitable deal!

Guess Asa would read it over too, using his decades of experience with stingy quest givers to try to find any loopholes.

1d20 (16) + 4 + Tactical Assessment (4) = 24

Ellina stands on tiptoes, trying to get a good look at the document. Maybe she'll spot something at the bottom of the page (since it's right in front of her) that the others may have overlooked.

Investigation: 1d20 = 3, which becomes 10 with reliable talent, + 12 = 22.

Ok, as the party pour over the document, the Fighter and the Rogue both spot the following term:

''Notwithstanding the operation of the formative part and without limiting any other remedy available, the parties agree that in the event of attempted repudiation, non performance by the promisor, egress from the current plane, denial of consideration or breach of any essential term by the promisor, the contract shall instead function as a pact primeval with the forfeiture of the promisors immortal soul, with collection to occur forthwith''

Translated, it means that should the person signing go back on their word, their soul is forfeit.

Alvin looks to Asa and Elina, and asks, "But does any of this actually say what the thing we get is?"

He feels very clever for making such an astute legal observation.
