Samurai Jack: Birth of Evil

Nightfall

Sage of the Scarred Lands
Have to say much like the first two epsidose/movie, this prelude was awesome. I especially liked the ending with Jack's day fighting not 1, not 2, but 500 hundred armed Akus. Now that was awesome. ;) Not quite Jack fighting the entire robot hired killers with only his bamboo stick, but still.

Much goodness was present.

My question, what was cooler the sword that created Glorious Solar Plate or the cool flying cloud of foot stickiness?

The Scotsman Saves Jack

Another good episode, or two (what with the lack of numbering all of a sudden?).

I liked all of the Star Wars references/parodies.

I know Jack is badass, but how does he manage to beat the Scotsman at everything?

The Birth of Evil, which rocked, is officially episodes 36/37, IIRC. I'm not sure what episode numbers Scotsman saves Jack is, though.

I really like the 1 hour format. I found the numerous Star Wars references to be hilarious, from 'Greedo' to 'who's gonna sail it, kid, YOU?". Great stuff.

And man, was Aku scary as hell or what? At least, until he got beat down, and beat down hard.

Both episodes were excellent. I loved the Star Wars references as well, absolutely classic. As for Jack defeating the Scotsman in all those contests, well.... he's Jack. "Jack jump good." "Yeah, yeah.." :)

Yeah, but what about all of the feats of strength?

SW references: There was a Bobba Fett look a like, and my favorite "There is greater den of scum and villainy, and the crab cakes are great, too." (may not be exact)

Which are you referring to?

The "Jump Good" reference is straight from Episode IX, "Jack learns how to Jump". Jack has always been fast, so winning a run around the island was a given. Jack didn't out-strength the Scotsman with the rock-toss, he skipped it to make it go further. Catching a fish? Dexterity and speed. Cutting a log with their respective magic swords? Speed won the battle.

As far as I can remember, all of their contests were either speed, dexterity, endurance or a combination of all three. The Scotsman went out of his way to NOT choose battles of strength, after the last time when he felt that Jack had tricked him. Which, unfortunately for him, was one of the few places he actually outstrips Jack.
