Sanctified magic. Question?

First Post
Hi all, I have just read a line in the book of exalted deeds and wished to confirm if my interpretation is correct.
Clerics can spontaneously cast sanctified spells as they do with cure spells. Is this correct? Anyone played with these spells yet, how do they work out.

Cheers

Yes, and they are powerful, particularly diamond spray and hammer of rightiousness.

too powerful for a typical stat sacrifice or are these penalties easily offset by a restoration/lesser restoration spell?

IMO they are too powerful to be allowed to cpontaneously cast. So far memorizing them has worked out ok. In the two campaigns I'm in they are still nice enough for casters to memorize them.

Diamond spray only costs cash. For my group its worth it, but then again treasure is divided up evenly with a share going to the "party fund" tha tpays for healing wandes, bags of holding, and utility items like dimensional shackles, and the group has agreed to let the party fund pay for the diamond sprays.

The Hammer only does you 1d2 str dmg. If your cleric doesnt melee much (and ours virtually never does...she just casts direct damage and healing and commands her large air elemental that she conmtrols with her air domain powers.), its not a big penalty at all....except that time when she cast a few in a row and lost the ability to stand up in her plate armor...that was a problem... :D
