Todd Lockwood doing pictures for WotC again. Makes me a happy fanboy.

In fact, overall the art looks good. Lots of great Ron Spencer and Micheal Phillipi pictures. Hopefully the other contents turn out as good.

I've previous frowned at some of the preview material (like them using the word 'hoary' in an otherwise exclusively hot places list), but that said... I'd buy this book for the monster art alone. There's some gems in there.

Between the mephits, the cursed old one, and the jackal headed critters, and to say nothing about the new Lockwood art, I am keenly impressed.

Good lord, there is something to match the silliness of the Phantom Fungus!

I mean, the Saguaro Sentinel is very funny!

The fact that there are protoceratops, as a mount, makes me intensely happy. So does the "cameleopard", as camoleopardus, or something like that, was the Latin name of the giraffe, so the cameleopard looks somewhat camelish, leopardish and giraffish. The dire puma and diptorodon (they lived in scrubland more than desert) seem a bit off, but it's cool to have them anyway. Also, saguaro sentinels are awesome.

So, when's this book supposed to be out?
