D&D 5E Sanity in 5e

Before the database troubles somebody (sorry I can't remember who) posted a thread about their ideas for house rules on sanity in 5e. I left up a window on the thread, intending to read it through but never got around to it. If I remember correctly, the idea was something like Sanity being 3 times the character's WIS and then being slowly eroded by the usual experiences and alien researches. I forgot what the mechanism to regain Sanity points was. I did see that the original poster had made an update but I hadn't read that either. Any possibility of the original poster putting it out there again?

That'd be me. I didn't save it though, sorry! I'll try to reconstruct it when I get a spare hour or two.

If anyone saved the URL of he thread (I didn't), it can probably be recovered via a browser cache. Post the URL here, if you saved it, and I'll see if that's possible.

I don't have the original URL, but I made some slight modifications to Morrus' rules and I use it in my Primeval Thule campaign. I'd be happy to put up the PDF I made and use if nobody has the original post kicking around.

You can also probably find it if you remember what day you last accessed it from and searching the cache that way. I didn't keep up on the thread otherwise I would post what I had, and I can't remember the last day I checked it out.

That would be great if you could. Thanks

I thought it might've been you but didn't want to say if I was remembering incorrectly. I know you're busy so, whenever you get the chance.

Here it is.

The parts I changed: I added damage on a successful save, added the bit about psychic damage hitting both hit points and sanity points, and added Sanity Resistance by level to mitigate the damage-on-a-successful-save bit. I also added a section on how proficiency in the Intelligence (Arcana) skill interacts with the Sanity system. I removed an optional rule that involved inflicting Sanity damage via a Charisma check.

Essentially, I mashed the stuff Morrus designed with ideas from the d20 Call of Cthulhu book. And seeing it all written out above, I guess I changed an awful lot of what he had written.

I also made it look pretty and inserted a spooky and totally unauthorized picture I found online.

Anyways.

This looks great, thanks a bunch. Would still like to see Morrus's updated version if it can be redone but understand if not. Thanks again.

I don't have the original, I'm sorry. I copied what Morrus posted into a Word doc and edited to suit my needs/wants. I didn't save the unedited post anywhere. My list of changes was just from memory.
