Lord Slaw
First Post
Wizards of the Coast once placed an article entitled "What's Bugging You?" (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20040614x) on their website. I stumbled across it while trying to draw up a verminous Druid, and shortly afterwards I found the article covering Entomanothropy - for those of you without roots in Biology, this pretty much means a werewolf, but with insects (vermin). I loved the idea at first, and upon further inspection, it's actually much easier to implement and play than most normal natural lycanthropes (lower LA, no alignment shift, less DR). The specific features for the Werewasp and for all Entomanothropes in general can be found at the link above.
I intend on playing as a natural Werewasp (possibly a Hexblade - wow, talk about being born lucky) in an upcoming campaign, but in the event of a low-level starting point, I thought it would be doing a kindness to my DM to draw up a Savage Progression for the template. As always, criticism and modifications (or even outright burninating) are much appreciated!
The Werewasp Template Class
1st - Wis +2, Int -2, natural armor +2, alternate form (giant wasp), darkvision 60 ft., shapechanger subtype, entomanothropic immunities
2nd - Alternate form (hybrid), damage reduction 5/silver, entomanothropic command, curse of entomanothropy (natural only)
The Giant Wasp (Entomanothrope) Class
1st - 1d8 HD - +0 BAB - +2 Fort - +0 Ref - +0 Will - 2+Int Skills - +2 Dex, natural armor +2, wasp abilities, sting (1d3)
2nd - 2d8 HD - +1 BAB - +3 Fort - +0 Ref - +0 Will - 2+Int Skills - +2 Str, +2 Con, poison (1d4 Dex)

4th - 4d8 HD - +3 BAB - +4 Fort - +1 Ref - +1 Will - 2+Int Skills - +2 Str, +2 Con, poison (1d6 Dex)
5th - 5d8 HD - +3 BAB - +4 Fort - +1 Ref - +1 Will - 2+Int Skills - +2 Str, natural armor +1, Large
