Savage Species: Feral Question

If you were to add the Feral template to a standard pc race (elf, for example), would the new creation receive the special attacks or special qualities (i.e. darkvision, fast healing) as if he/she had 1 monster hit die, or none? I'm aware that class levels don't count as monster hit die for progression in these special abilities.

I would say "1" hit dice.

Cool Book, that Savage Species. I have created some "Neanderthall" Type humans for my campaign world in a Jungle setting and applied the Feral Template, and classed them as 1 hit dice. If you need further clarification, check out the "Elf" or "Dwarf" in the MM and you should find that they are 1 Hit Dice Creatures. So hope that helps and happy hunting !!!!:D
