Scales of War Conversion

Roose Bolton

First Post
So I've decided to take up this task. I know some players have done it before. A good blog on the subject can be found here...

Bbuuutttt... I did (imo) find a flaw with his design, it seems that little was done for adjusting level advancement with the 30 levels of 4E to 20 in 5E. Seems to me the adventures should break down close to this....(sorry the copy and paste didnt go as smoothly).

Converting Scales of War to 5th Edition
Name and 4th Edition levels 5th Edition Levels
Rescue at Rivenroar 1 – 3 1

Siege of Bordin's Watch 3 – 4 2

The Shadow Rift of Umbraforge 4 – 6 3

The Lost Mines of Karak 6 – 7 4

Den of the Destroyer 7 – 9 5

The Temple Between 9 – 11 6
Beyond the Mottled Tower 11 – 12 7

Haven of the Bitter Glass 12 – 14 8

Alliance of Nefelus 14 – 15 9

Throne of the Stone Skinned King 15 – 17 10

Garaitha’s Anvil 18 12

Betrayel at Monadhan 19 – 21 13
A Tyranny of Souls 21 - 22 14
Grasp of the Mantled Citadel 22 – 24 15

Legacy of Io 24 – 25 16
Those Once Loyal 25 – 27 17

Test of Fire 27 – 30 18
Terror of Tiamat – 30 20

It seems, especially in a lot of the earlier modules that half of the encounters need to be removed so the PCs don't rocket past to quickly in levels (or die from so many encounters).

I'll be post more on my blog (I'll provide link later) with my work and experiences with this project.

Also is it legal to post my reworked versions of the Scale of War modules from the sadly oop Dungeon magazine for people to download? Or will Wizards take legal action?
