Scarred Land discussion/debate: Slacerians and Ratmen

Hey Mike! :) Thanks for plugging R&R2. I just was waiting for you and/or Joseph to do that. Any word from Anthony when we can expect an email about our submissions being in?

Valid point. But maybe the Slacerians got lazy. Or perhaps they lost a lot of their knowledge when the dragons mages started to appear. Perhaps they toiled away and didn't bother that much after their creations, Illithids, ran amok. Or maybe they were in hiding from some powerful Psionic race that could have wiped them out in a breath. Perhaps the titans were their means to defend themselves...but they turned on them since they were beyond their understanding. Much like the gods! :D See and who says history doesn't repeat itself? ;)

When IS RR2 coming out?

Joseph estimates August. I'd say a little later but then I'm not working on it. I just perfer to see if settles into a September release, like the first or second week of September. I don't know if it will but that's my belief.

Wilderness and Wastelands is a GREAT Dm's Tool.

Heh. It's an even better author's tool. Trying to make random encounter charts for Scarred Lands books before this book came out was making my eyes bleed and my brain calcify. Now it merely causes ulcers. :)

August. We are on schedule, and if we released it any later, we'd miss GenCon. :)

Now, that's not to say that it will absolutely be on time for GenCon, but with the rush we are putting to it, rest assured that it will be out in August.

Any idea when submitters will be told if their submissions were accepted or not? I got an e-mail months ago acknowledging receipt and that it would be awhile before anything else as there were over 1400 submissions to go through.

Ugh! No offense Krusty mate, but I don't think I could stomach such a thing. Though I do agree it entirely possible the slacerians WERE creations of the Illithids much like the Giths.

I have a very interesting metaplot for my SL campaign involving a psionic race, The Great Enemy(tm) and a great interplanar war. If there's interest I'll rant a bit around it.

Well I'm always interested in hearing about SL metaplots. :) Mainly because there's very little in Ghelspad that's I've noticed.
So please tell me more about the "Great Enemy". Are they friends foes, or neutral toward the other psionic races much like Slacerians.

Hell, in my own campaign, I'm just trying to gaue the players well enough so that they don't go getting themselves killed left and right. We finally got a player, Igor, willing to play a priest of Corean, and he does a good job. still, player bickering weakens the party strength and the group has suffered several setbacks due to NPC's being stupid (and the party not arguing with them), PC's having poor tactics, and bad dice rolls.

The party has tried to get to Mullis Town three times now and had to come back each time.

Ah well. They'll make it someday...
