ND,

I did post some NPCs on the old thread. It was admittedly as an attachment. Did you want to see it in post format?

Is Madriel a virgin? I know that she has a daughter, but I can t figure out if that was a result of the "normal" method or some kind of immaculate conception.

Since I just took an oath on it I m seriously hoping for the latter...

Just looking for some advice. My players have just had their second encounter with someone who I hope will become a recurring nemesis--he's a cleric of Chardun with the War and Domination domains. Now while they wisely chose to run away before he could act, how do I unveil his ability to rebuke and command humans without it seeming like a GM cheat? Can I give them a saving throw?

So, here's a question about SL:
How strong is the worship of Hwyrdd (how do you pronounce that?) in the Hegemony of Calastia? Obviously some countries in the Hegemony have more halfling population than others, so does the number of Hwyrrd's followers grow in linear fashion as the halfling population gets bigger? Where are the hot spots of Hwyrdd worship inside the Hegemony (if any)?

Finally! Some action. :)

Parlan,

I'm not sure virginity can actually be applied to gods and goddesses. But Madriel is spiritually pure, even if she did concieve. I'm not sure she's truly a virgin, but she's spotless enough that making an oath of chasity, it works for the player. Trust me.

Greyline,

I would allow a saving throw. But mostly I would say if you want to use the dominiation effect that shows, probably have him turn a formerly hostile force, say some peasantry, into the service of Chardun.

Tel,

The Hegmony isn't exactly my strongest suit, but regarding Hwyrdd worship, I would say they act in cells for the most part. Their hot spots would be close to a natural formation, usually a forested hill or something similiar. While it's hard to judge exact numbers, I'd say that yes the greater the concentration of halflings, the more likely it is to find Hwyrdd worshippers. Plus plenty of halfling rogues that are fond of nature and stealth might be secret Hwyrdd worshippers. (Honestly have no clue but go with HU-WErrd.)

Yeah, there's a saving throw. The DC is 10 + cleric's Cha mod + half the cleric's level. The trick is that only chaotic and good aligned character can make this save. If you are not chaotic or good, then the cleric can rebuke you as if you were an undead creature. This is something that hasn't so far dawned on my players, who are for the most part evil and chaotic. Not CE though.

How you could unveil it: well, there are probably war stories that some old warrior / paladin / mercenary can tell the party. Clerics of Chardun have the lovely quality that they don't exactly avoid combat :).

Also, if you have a character in your group who has Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (religion) then the combination could be used to either remember details or find information on (Gather Information) cleric's of Chardun and abilities that are specific to them.

Or they can just ask a bard.

This all of course assumes that the party wants to get to know their new enemy better. It's a good tactic - "know your enemy" - but not everyone follows it.
