[Scarred Lands]The Unseeing as PC?

Mord,

Hard to say if they do, but that's something for each DM to decide.
But I do think the limits to his "seeing" are pretty obvious, even if he can make out people, certain other things such as trees and unintelligent creatures won't be seen. So that does have the benefit/cost involved there.

Allanon,
It's your call but I do think it's wise going ELC +4 in this instance. Just have to see.

Well it states that tasks that require visual perception like for instance reading automatically fail, so no reading. Spotting a dragon in the air at 240 feet poses another problem as it is well beyond 60 feet. Finding someone in a crowd will likely be difficult too as all those emotions will make finding a specific pattern very difficult.
The color problem is interesting, though... :D

PC1: Don't step on the green tiles they're trapped.
Unseeing: Green? Tiles?

Yeah well the compensations are still nice and I'd certainly allow a PC Unseeing more than say, a Black Pelt. Being able to dispelling automatically is pretty wrong.

No the Empathic ability states that inanimate things and unintelligent creatures show up as 'vacuums in the emotional tapestry of the area'. So no bumping into trees. Though if this gives them the same 'supersight' to spot them ... I think that it will give them a -1 to hit them maybe more since it will be somewhat hard to precisely distinguish them.. Though I will require difficult 'spot' checks for noticing small things like bugs and the like.

Definitely, I'll be pondering all night (It's 23:41 here in Holland) about this... I love being DM

Well at least I'll give you something to think about. ;) Btw looks like July will be action packed as the first two player's Guide look set for July of this year. Can't wait. :D

Surely the ECL total for monk2 abilities and 2 hit die *should* be +2 and not +3...

After all, with mnk2 abilities and 2 hit die, surely he is effectively just a level 2 monk? Why does being a lvl 2 monk equal +3 ECL?

(Note: I do know about the other abilities it gets to have a higher ECL bonus, but I'm just wondering why Mordane's calculations have mnk2 and 2 hit die as being +3 ECL)

Don't ask me Carn. I didn't do the calculations. :) (Though if you add that in it would probably increase it to ELC +5)

Ahh... nice... Birthday is coming up July 14th so I just hope they be available here in Holland then :)

Should be. Barring any more changes at least. The player's Guide and CC Revised are being made 3.5 compatible so hopefully we'll have some good stuff to enjoy. (even if you don't have 3.5 ;) )

Remember that when a monster description talks about abilities increasing with the monter's HD, they aren't talking about all the Hit Dice.

They are talking about the monster's hit dice for being an aberration, or monstrous humanoid. Thus, if you advance the critter using simply its Type hit dice, increase the class abilities appropriately.

If you give it normal class levels, those abilities do not increase; this is why the Red Witch slitheren has Wizard as a preferred class. That'd be useless if they were able to just take fighter levels and still huck fireballs with the rest of them.
