Is it just my group are do more than we few feel that this skill is somewhat of a no show in the game.

We've added it as a skill check, that allows you to scent (within a 5ft. radius) as per a very limited scent ability.

It is weird that Sight, and Sound are the only senses that are covered by the rules for players.

I think you're right to give it such a small range, otherwise you'd have to factor in wind strength and direction and probably a boatload of things I haven't thought of.

How much use does it get in your game?

Too new to tell, we only came up with recently...well...er...I did, anyway.

I have had it as a set in the game skill for 2 sessions, I allowed players to take some points in it even if they didn't have any extra skill points, and I have had two players use it to attempt to smell all sorts of things, from poisons in their food at the Tavern, to a player attempting to use it to smell the lovely scent of the barmaid's hair only to smell the fouler smell of the city. ;)

Thats why i'm using "Notice" which encompasses all senses... well except maybe sixth-sense ;)

I actually like that, except then my players have all those extra points to spend...besides notice could very well cover Sixth Sense, DC is just higher and give children a +10 to it or something :p
