School Specialization and UMD?

I was debating with a friend of mine about the possibility to avoid the Wizard Specialization's limits.

My friend says that if you use UMD to "emulate" a "normal" Wizard you can cast spells from prohibited schools.

From the SRD:

Spells of the prohibited school or schools are not available to the wizard, and she can’t even cast such spells from scrolls or fire them from wands

What do you think about it?

Interesting question, with UMD you should be able to cast from wand and scroll but as for spellcasting goes I really don't know

UMD would work.

Heck, you can use a "prohibited" wand just by taking a level of Sorceror.

No, you could not use UMD to emulate a normal wizard and then normally cast a prohibited spell.

You could use UMD to cast a spell from a scroll or from a wand or a staff (all items normally forbidden to a Specialist wizard), but you could not memorize such a spell.

The key part here being "Use Magic Device."
