Sci-Fi Channel's "Grendel": Quadruple Crossbow???

No, you are not DM in my campaign, and I prefer to defer from 'Gygaxian' choices when in doubt. Aside from which - Paladins could use ranged weapons in first edition too, and of the 12 'original' (i.e. Frankish) paladins at least one used a bow.

Your conceit is noted. Next!

Even under the 1st edition rules Paladins and Cavaliers could use ranged weapons... they just didn't have them as specializations or as their preferred weapons. Unless they were Elven Cavaliers, that is.

So it's not an "automatic violation" of their code of conduct.

I watched parts of it last night but I wasn't feeling good so I went to sleep but I did notice what looked like a scope mounted on that guys crossbow. Did anyone else catch this?

Not sure that I recall that, as any mention of this movie sends chills down my gastric-intestinal tract due that HORRID, HORRID soundtrack...a God awful piece of 'noise' that was bad even for the music of the 1980's...

LH is one movie that i would LOVE to see re-imagined today.

As for the Paladin not using ranged weapons because he's a paladin...that's just silly. As silly as that LH soundtrack, even. ;)

Really! I need to level some more perhaps and look for quests.

The quest line starts in Un'Goro Crater, a 50+ zone (IIRC about the levels). It starts near a body of water; beyond that I won't say. :) (You Alliance scum! :p)

It was a scope on Beowulf's crossbow ... not one on the LH crossbow. And yes, it was stupid (the scope, that is).

Can't say the LH soudtrack bothers me. I thought the movie was quite well done, overall.

As far as crossbows ... Ladyhawke had a double. But if you want a super crossbow, it's hard to beat the D&D repeating crossbow, except perhaps with a Wookie bowcaster.

Ahh... you don't want Ladyhawke... you what Hawk the Slayer. Move down from the B list a couple of aisles.

i dident watch the movie, but how would you show bauwolf ripping of Glendale's arm without it seeming corny?
Bauwolf? Glendale? Have you got some kind of weird auto-spellcheck thing running? Or voice control, maybe?
