Twilight Zone, though, revolutionized the market for Sci-Fi on TV in a way no other show has done, and spawned countless imitators: Outer Limits, Amazing Stories, Tales From the Darkside, Spine Chillers, The Watcher...and even Serling's own recycling of it in the form of The Night Gallery.

I have forgotten which show it was, but a similarly-themed show opened with a carousel and calliope music... wish I could recall what show that was, the them music was infectious.

Interesting, I don't think the German version of the Outer Limits intro had this opening. Images yes, but the story about "Them" controlling the TV not.

I am not sure if I would consider the BSG theme music one of my favorite, but BSG soundtrack overall is amazing.
