just wanted to add my 2 cents in, seeing as I picked up the DVD from www.Deepdiscountdvd.com for $13.48 and boy am I glad I did!

I really agree with Djeta - it was very fun, and well-done.
My wife, friends, and gaming buddies have all thought it was very cool.
I would buy many products like this if they were made, even with some of the valid criticisms some people have pointed out.

That's a really good deal, Reaper. I might have to get mine there. Though, I've purchased quite enough stuff here lately (not the least of which is $600 on a brand new telescope).

I still do want to get this.

Speaking of interactive DVDs. I saw that they remade Dragon's Lair on DVD that played just like the arcade version. You use the DVD remote to control Dirk the Daring. I want that, too.

I liked Lidda. She was very funny, although when she says "Ok girl, get it together" , she sounded more like a suburban teenage girl than a halfling rogue. That was a little annoying, but for the most part she was cute and funny.

I cracked up when she says she's going to punch Regdar and he says "Yeah I'll get you something to stand on" :)

My favorite quote from Regdar (who got some good lines) is when they are walking in the desert and he says to Lidda," Keep talking tough girl and you'll be wearing your a$$ for a hat." I almost died....\ :D

I was makin' a joke. :) Actually I thought it was cool that there was so much dialogue in it, as well as non-combat types of encounters (the barbarians in the tavern, for example).

Heh

And someone told me this weekend that people from Mad Town aren't funny. :p

A word of warning on the Dragon's Lair set. For some reason, DL and DL2 acted a little wonky on my DVD player - when I'd make a choice, it would often jump to the wrong scene. I don't know how many times I successfully jumped through the closing wall, heard the victory music, and then saw Dirk die for no reason. Or ran out of a house, only to find myself being devoured by a giant snake in a dungeon. On the upside, it works fine on my Playstation 2, so I don't know what its deal is.

Yeah, that whole exchange was quite good (and those who labeled it G must have missed a couple parts like that).

I also have the Dragon's Lair/DL2/Space Ace DVD's, and love them to death - great present. (DL2 is one of my favorite arcade games - probably because I could actually finish it :D)
Even on my crappy DVD player (with horrendously slow seek-times) it plays fine - no errors like the ones described at all.

You just have to aim the DVD remote VERY carefully, and strangely the most difficult scene to make it register the moves is the Dirk Flying the Horse scene.
The really neat part of those discs is the Bonus Material - all the interviews and such.
If you liked the game(s), definately a must-buy.

Anyone get/play Dragon's Lair 3D?

Heh! My wife and I finally watched the sample DVD this weekend. Liked it enough to go buy the game for $16. We have had fun with it these last two nights. It was amusing to suddenly see this thread...and realize it has been here for a while.

Neat game. There are probably a lot of ways it could have been better, but it has still been fun. Well worth the money!

Honestly, I think it is time the industry should move on to second-generation DVD technology, with more interactive features and longer playing time. IOW, it's time for a DVD game console player.
