Scout's Skirmish Ability

I can see why moving around would give you a benefit AC but I can't figure out why it'd increase your damage. Any opinions on why the Scout's skirmish ability pumps up damage?

Maybe changing position throws the opponent off allowing you to hit a more vulnerable spot?

think it of a movement feint that always succeeds lol and no checks are needed

Sting like a bee

Maybe you draw your opponent out more and cause them to overextend or leave another opening for a nice hit.
