Scout's Skirmish Attacks

First Post
The skirmish ability possessed by the Scout class in Complete Adventurer states that its damage bonus applies to all attacks made in a round where the scout moves more than 10 feet. Other than by taking level's in CW's Dervish PrC, are there are any other ways available to move more than 5 feet and still take multiple attacks (note that I want the skirmish damage bonus to apply to all attacks, so Manyshot, for instance, wouldn't count)?

I think you're out of luck on that one. :)

Fire a bow from the back of a moving mount?

glass.

Take enough levels of Psychic Warrior (at least 4th) till you get the ability to manifest either Psionic Lion's Charge (Swift action, full attack after charge) or Hustle (Swift Action, get an extra move action). Or you could take a prestige class that allows you to use whirlwind attack as a standard action, or something like that.

For a normal scout, that's a hard requirement to fill.

If you are psionic and want to invest in the levels required, the Elocator PrC gains Capricious Step which grants an extra 5' step that can be taken anytime during your turn as long as you are not doing any other move action. That means you can take two 5' steps before you attack meeting the requirement for skirmish without provoking an AoO and still get your full attack.

Isn't there something out there that lets you make a ten-foot-step instead of a 5-foot-step with a good Tumble check?

The Singh Rager PrC from Oriental Adventure gives you Pounce at fourth level. To qualify for the PrC, you need to be Lawful, have a BAB of 7 or more (so 10th-level scout), and have the Iron Will and Ki Shout feats. So that makes a level 14 character build. (You could qualify earlier by multiclassing into a good-BAB class, but then the interest of Skirmish diminishes.)

I think it could be an interesting combo, because the Singh Rager gives you a Rage-like ability, the Diehard feat, immunity to Fear effects, good Fort and Will, and a +4 bonus to Will saves against mind-affecting spells and effects. If you go further in the Singh Rager class, you also get the possibility to make one extra attack (as if hasted) and a free Ki Shout on your full attack skirmish charges...

I think the Skirmish ability description states it can't be used with AoO's - Otherwise, a Scout with Combat Reflexes would be a terror.

Another option - play a Catperson scout (Races of the Wild) and take the Pounce feat (full attack after charging flat-footed foe.)

Yes, it first states "all attacks in a round", but then on the next sentence brings the restriction that it only applies to attacks made during your turn. So it should have been written "all attacks in your turn".

BTW, this also rules out the attack granted by the snake's swiftness spell from the Miniatures Handbook. (For those who don't know, you cast this spell on an ally, who is then allowed to make a single attack. That, plus Bigby's slapping hand, which makes its target provoke an AoO, can give an interesting tactical angle to spellcasters.)

there's a feat in (complete adventurer?), i think it's named "dual strike" for dual weilding characters, which allows them to take a single attack (at penalty) with both hands in a round during which they have moved.

though i think that's the best that you're goign to get without going psionic or dervish.
