After being threatened with a lawsuit from Hasbro, the creators of Scrabulous have wasted no time in tweaking the game and have launched a new tile-based game called Wordscraper.

In addition to changing the name, they changed the board look so as not to directly copy the colors, etc of a Scrabble board, and have even made provisions for players to create their own board layout.

However, it is still a Scrabble-compatible game, and anyone familiar with the original rules will be able to pick it up in no time.

Yep, they moved away from the Trademarked trade dress and instead are relying entirely now on game mechanics not being copyrightable.
