Sculpt Sound

1.
The spell Sculpt Sound has a saving throw:
Will negates (Object)
I am not sure about the description in the PHB about this.
If a Bard casts Sculpt Sound on a spellcaster to make him snore like a pig, does the spellcaster get a saving throw or not?

2.
Can you use Sculpt Sound to make your party produce no noise (i.e. no foot steps, no armor noise, etc.), but speaking (and only speaking) still works?

All you Bards out there:
What is the most useful application of Sculpt Sound you know?

1. Yes, the spellcaster gets a Will save to negate the effect. If it just allowed a save for objects and not creatures, the line would read: None and Will negates (objects).

2. I am not sure you can be that selective with the spell. If you deaden sound for each creature so that they produce no sound, speach would be included.

3. I have not played a bard yet, but this is a great spell. Very useful in a wide variety of situations.

I used it to make a man go insane. We were on a ship and the our group was trying to influence the captain, but the first mate was getting in our way. So, through the use of illusions I convinced the trusted carpenter that he had seen and heard the first mate plotting against the captain. During that time the first mate was distracted alone in his cabin with a talking mouse (thanks to the Druid). The captain wasn't sure who to believe until the first mate mentioned a talking mouse. The captain thought the first mate was losing it, so sent him to the brig. So, I cast scult sound on the floorboards in the brig so that instead of creeking, they whisper guilty. It was inspired by the tell tale heart of course.

'The character changes the sounds that creatures or objects make.'
You could change the sounds that your party makes in that way, that they do not produce unintended sounds.
Or as another possibility: You could deaden all sounds from all clothing, armor and weapons your party is carrying around. So you cast it on the characters' objects, not on the party itself. This should make the party perfectly silent unless they speak (or sneeze). Or at least a fat bonus on all move silently checks (>+10).

I don't think a creature's gear is considered an object for the purposes of this spell. You target the creature and that includes his gear, or you target an object (unattended), like a wagon or some trees. Even if you allow the spell to target individual pieces of gear worn or carried by a creature, each piece would count against the maximum of 1 object per caster level, so you could not really affect an entire group of adventurers in that manner.
