Search Troubles

When I try to search the fora I get this message:

"You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons..."

I get this message despite being logged-in. I didn't see anything in the FAQ about requirements beyond registration. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

edit: I have followed the instructions on the home page - deleted cookie and made sure I am not accessing through cyberstreet.

Only community supporters can use the search function.

If you want to find something on your own you'll have to be creative and change how you have the threads sorted. If that doesn't work and you really want to find a specific thread you can always ask and someone will be willing to help you out.

Yep. Just post here in this thread what you're looking for and someone will certainly look it up for you.

Thanks for the info.

I hope somebody makes an addition for the BBS FAQ about this... which is the first place a lot of people are going to look for info. I finally found the message about subscriptions on the homepage because I knew to look for it. If you had not answered my question I would have had no idea what was going on.

It's one thing to ask people for money, but another to make it difficult for people to find out why or what it is for. I guess I'll chalk this up to the management change and deal with it.

I'm not sure about asking supporters to search for me. I don't think I'm willing to pay $35/year for search privilages, but at the same time I understand that bandwidth costs money. I'll decide later.

Ghola, you're absolutely right; that should be in the FAQ! It was on the old boards, but we just updated software, and maybe it didn't get carried over. We'll fix that as soon as we get a chance.

And most people don't mind aiding a search when you need one.
