Second Edtion Magic In The forgotten realms

Hi,I just had a question about the forgotten realms.I'm pretty new to D&D,though notto the realms.I've never played second edtion forgotten realms and have a question about it.I was on a diffrent site when I heard a mention of 10th level and higher magic.The person mentioned that the game designers were taking 10th and 11th level magic and turning them into epic spells.I was curious,but couldn't find any other mentions of it.I posted something like this on another site but dident get much of a response.I was hoping one of you might help me.Thanks in advance.

The Netheril Boxed set gave the rules for 10th, 11th, and 12th level Magic. Supposedly, after Karsus cast his 12th level spell that allowed him to temporarily take over the aspect of Mystryl, she took away all magic of 11th level and above. 10th level magic still existed but the elves of Cormanthor were about the only ones who could cast them (Elven High Magic). I'm not for sure when 10th level magic was removed.

With the addition of 3rd edition everything above 9th level became epic spells.

Sorry, didn't want to type it all out in the hyperlink box, and didn't know a quicker way of doing it.

On that page notice the Arcane Age: Netheril-Empire of Magic and Cormanthor. I really liked the older Elven High Magic, they kind of nerfed it in the Elves of Evermeet accessory.
