Yes... there was always an 'urban legend' that there was an abandoned subway station here in Toronto, that they use for filming. Now, it might all sound cool to you, but for me...reading blogs like Infiltation gives me the willies, because I've done stuff like this.
One of my most memorable explorations, is when I was up in cottage country, and there was an abandoned home/cottage. The owner abandoned it after one year snow had colapsed the back carport. I went over to see the damage upclose and personal. He had a couple of shacks out back, and used to have his back lot filled with machinery, but now only a few old car wrecks were there, and weeds had settled in.
I had checked out the shacks, nothing much interesting, and went to check the house. The door to the carport was open, and so I went inside. I explored the house, the basement, and bedrooms and closets. When I went to the front of the house however, I got a shock and found a box of records, a kettle, and one of the remaining mattresses had been pulled down from one of the bedrooms. What made me first nervous before I got to the front of the house, was I was hearing a 'tick' 'tick' 'tick' from somewhere in this otherwise silent house. Someone had obviously found the place and was squating there.
Now, some empty, dirty abandoned places can just be creepy, but this did a lot more than just creep/weird me out. Maybe that's why I like dungeon crawling so much.

And while Edmonton isn't old enough to have the same type of history that Moscow and London do, I always thought downtown Edmonton would make a great locale for a post-apocalyptic game (i.e. Gamma World).
Edmonton has a series of interconnected walkways in the downtown core known as the Pedway. The Pedway has underground, ground level, and above ground walkways, which is also connected to our LRT system.
