Seeking 3.5 players

First Post
The Flay campaign is looking for one or two gamers. We run sessions over AIM, usually on Saturday afternoons. If you're still reading this, and interested, take a look: Flay.

I should probably mention that this is a 3.5 campaign set in a unique (home-grown) world. Here's the original disclaimer.

Disclaimer:

Some descriptors that might apply to Flay: Flay will use 3.5 rules. Flay will accept the use of every official sourcebook. Flay may be for Mature Audiences Only. Flay is not for people who cannot spell correctly, cannot be bothered to do math on their own, or cannot accept DM rulings. Nothing will be barred, because the GM will come at you no-holds-barred. EL will be used, but beyond that, your survival is entirely your own concern. You have been warned.

Well, after reading the site, I thought I'd really like to join the game. Sad part is that Saturdays are the most erratic days of my year. I never know what I'm going to be doing on any specific Saturday. I'm going to try to see what I can do about that, however, because your game looks interesting.

Am I reading these logs right in that your games last up to 9 hours?

I'm very glad to hear that you're interested.

I must admit frankly that, by my memory, we have had even longer sessions. However, don't despair. I do not expect people with commitments to stay for the full duration, and I do not normally plan for such long sessions. Often the longer sessions have been the result of just one or two people in different time zones wanting to RP after the bulk of the activity was done. So, despite the fact that a session may look very long, the actual group portion of the session may be something like 2/3 of the total time. Additionally, early on we were plagued by constant rules calls, but those seem to have subsided.

I think you can plan on attending a little over six hours for most sessions.

And at what time do these sessions start? I didn't see a timezone referenced on the site.

The standard time is 8PM GMT, or 3PM EST. However, the official agreement is a bit broader, and involves "Saturday afternoon and evening," so the start time can vary somewhat.

All of the recent sessions have been at that time.

Of course, we prefer that we talk to someone to confirm that their style of play will mesh with ours before turning them loose in a session (and, of course, to see their character first), but you are most welcome to observe. :D

I should also mention that we have actual session logs available online, so you can just stop by and see if this style of gaming suits you.

Interested

I applied to FLAY and am awaiting confirmation of my account info...I've never played an RPG like this and I think it sounds like fun.
As for the rules system however, I am a little fuzzy...
You say all 3.5 official manuals will be accepted for use, does this also include 3rd party material in print and 3rd edition material that has not been converted into 3.5?
...let me know...:D

I think I've spoken with you directly between then and now, but for the record, we don't generally accept 3rd party material.
