Seeking good online roleplaying program (i.e. like OpenRPG)

Hi all.

With OpenRPG no longer supported, I am looking around for a good program to use for online roleplaying. I am hoping someone here can steer me towards something useful. Maptool would potentially be perfect, but for some reason I have been unable to determine, it lags severely on my computer. A modest fee for use is okay if the program is worth it--but only if I'm the only one that has to pay it. I'm not going to force my players to pay to play in my campaigns! ; )

So with that in mind, does anyone know of anything they can recommend?

Thanks,

IndyPendant.

Here is a comprehensive list of all the virtual tabletop programs, both free and commercial.

If you go with a commercial VT, many of them have the option of Floating Licenses that give GMs the ability to have players log in without paying anything, but it's likely to get a bit expensive if you have to pay for your players' clients. ScreenMonkey may be the exception, although it's an older program that may not have as many "bells and whistles" as other commercial VTs.

Heh. Wow. That's...way more comprehensive than I was expecting when I put out this request.

Thank you very much, heruca! *goes off to read for a while*
