Seeking ideas for Star Wars

If you go by traditional Star Wars precedents, you probably wouldn't ignite an atmosphere, it's more common to break the ship or throw it wildly off course... Though, since it is science-FICTION, you could have almost any result you desired.

I was thinking of Babylon 5, to be truthful. At one point, they were being pursued by a vastly superior vessel, flew into Jupiter's upper atmosphere, and opened a jump portal. The energy discharge from ignited atmosphere was... catastrophic. At one point, they opened a jump portal in volatile jumpspace too - now that was a big boom.

Anyway, jumpspace isn't hyperspace. But B5 toyed around with it a lot; there's some useful stuff to be interpolated there.
