Seeking Resources on Nobility

I'm on the verge of writing about the nobility for my reimagined homebrew Dragonlance setting (sort of deconstructed and abused far beyond the tolerances it was built to for my own aesthetic objectives) and seeking inspirational material. I already know a bit about how the British Honours System works, but I also know that it's a bit atypical and has a lot of quirks not so common in the rest of Europe. Aside Wikipedia, anyone know a place online where I could bone up on how nobility has traditionally operated (beyond simple hierarchies of titles) on the Continent? I'm especially interested in German and French situations, but I'll take anything that might be of use.

Seignurial system

I let slip the dogs of Google, and came up with MANY links to Hereditary titles, and seignurial systems (whether French or not). The best listing was Wiki though, because it was broken down into Western and Non-western.
