Seen the wild magic banner ad, but how is it going to work?

I like the banner ad, and the cover of the supplement. However I am still interested as to how this system will work. Perhaps we could have a little sneak preview as an advert here? Perhaps even an idea as to whether the mighty 'Nahal's reckless dweomer' will be in it!

Anything would be good!

And my sig is screwed up isn't it!? Can anyone help me with the codes?

Back when the project was started, there was a big discussion about how Nahals could be made "balanced"... I don't think a decision was ever reached, and the "current" decision at the time was to just remove it alltogether.

That may have changed, though.

Former EN World Reviewer Tuerny got an advance copy (with a lot of typos and layout problems) of Wild Spellcraft, and he posted his review here.

Bear in mind that he could be biased, because he used to be on staff here. Still, it sure as heck pleased me to hear that he liked it.

And no, Nahal's Reckless Dweomer couldn't make it in for 2 reasons. The first was that it would be copyright infringement to have the same spell name. The second is that anything that allows you to cast a 9th level spell with a 1st level slot it too powerful. However, the Reckless Spell feat might fit the bill. It lets you try to cast a spell with a spell slot that is one level lower, but you take damage doing it, and might cause a surge.

Aw, dang. I feel bad now for not thinking of that myself. That would've been a hoot, to post fake info about my own book. Heh.

I'll have to try that next time. *evil grin*

None of the wild magic spells from Tome of Magic are in Wild Spellcraft. Tome of Magic and its contents are WotC's property.

Wild Spellcraft does have spells of its own, though. :)

Yes, read my review :)
I do no think that I was biased but I could be a wee bit biased about my bias. Got that? ;)

Overall, as you can tell from my review I was impressed. It appeared to be a very good book and look forward to using it in my own campaign. I am not sure exactly how much of it I will use (the exotic table, for example, is just a little bit too much for me. I prefer the basic table), but it has at least gotten me to start thinking in detail about what the magical fabric of my campaign. :)

Thanks Ranger Wickett!

:)
