Is there a flumph?

It's a little nutty what I'd do for that book if it has a flumph.

I'm with you BG. We should start a Brotherhood for Flumph lovers. :)

Not that kind of lovers you pervs...

For that matter, I want to upgrade my 3.0 of the first book -- ack! I like it much better than the WotC "Book of Tome of Horrors Monsters" that shall go nameless.
It makes me wonder who at WotC was responsible for giving that IP away in the first place. :confused:

Let's just say a very, very nice guy who for his own protection shall remain nameless. :)

It's actually kind of interesting......since ToH references a few monsters that are not OGC, their names and their relations to the ToH monsters technically *are.* So, were anyone to bother, it would probably be totally legit to make a "carrion crawler" monster that was some tentacled catarpillar....

A snippet of OGC trivia right there....:)

Ah- but when we did ToH1 those monsters were in the "Gentlemen's Agreement" SRD. They were removed when the SRD was officially released.

Well, yeah, that's the interesting thing....you guys can't revoke the OGC-ing of those names, really, right? The word "carrion crawler" is forever Open Gaming Content by virtue of you declaring the text for the Carrion Moth OGC, right? So when WotC removed the Carrion Crawler from their SRD, it left something of a gap -- the monster "carrion crawler" is still OGC, it just doesn't have stats yet, so to speak (since the SRD doesn't have 'em).

I mean, I'm just interested in the trivia aspect of it. I think other 'period peices' of that time would be affected the same way (the Beholder Guide being the first one that comes to mind -- it's OGC is still OGC regardless of if the "Beholder" monster isn't in the SRD anymore, I believe).

Of course, I could be wrong, and it doesn't matter a whole lot anyway, it's just nice to think that once you let the cat out of the bag with OGC, you can't put it back in if you later change your mind. Even though no one could use the carrion crawler from the MM without contacting Wizards, someone who needed one could easily provide the stats for a tentacled cattarpillar named 'Carrion Crawler,' by virtue of the fact that the word and concept itself is still OGC, even if the actual MM monster isn't.

Again, it's just the trivia I find interesting. I'm a bit of an OGL-ophile. ^_^;
