Send lawyers, Blades and money!

Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck

Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The s*** has hit the fan

Send lawyers, guns and money...

Wow, I have never seen a QUADRUPLE post before!

...I still don't get it...

I don't get it, but I accidentally found the quote.

Quad post. I waited over 5 minutes for each of those to post. Then, I used the back button and hit refresh to see if the post showed up. It never did. Finally I gave up. I log back on several hours later to find I am the owner of a quad post a look like a retard.

I've never heard the song either, but when i was presented with the idea, i figured out rather quickly that the concept was that of someone who had screwed up and needed some powerful help to get out of a jam.

Anyway, now that i've had a little bit of reaction (which i really appreciate, thanks guys!), i'll give you all some more background info. The company, Badger Blades, consists of only about 6 people. Badger is the name of the guy who owns the company and actually crafts most of the swords. Phil is the booth manager and the one who deals most directly with the customers while my friend does the demos in the booth (they chop on a concrete cinder block and drive the point of the blade down into it to show off the strength and durability). The swords themselves are fully combat servicable and have been known to break lesser blades during live duels. They're some pretty bad-ass blades.

The target market (initially at least) is people who are loyal customers of Badger Blades (this company has a surprisingly dedicated following) but it would be nice to reach a broader audience as well, hence my post to see what other people think. If their t-shirt venture is successful enough, then they have other, more illustrative designs they want me to do. I really hope it takes off too, because they've already agreed to pay me in swords for any new designs i do. :D

I like it, and I got it right away, actually from your post title.

I thought perhaps you were doing a tribute to the recently deceased songwriter.

My only suggestion is to find a more "medieval" sounding word than "lawyers"

Perhaps "barristers." "Advocates" or "counselors" might be accurate, but less easily parsed.

Although I note that according to Dictionary.com the word "lawyer" is from the Middle English lauier, from law, meaning law.

It just doesn't sound like a Renn Faire word to me.

Actually, the shirts themselves won't be sold at the Faire. The only t-shirts allowed to be sold at Ohio are the festival souvenirs. Instead they will be sold through Bader Blades website so the verbage doesn't necessarily have to be period for a Ren Faire. I had mentioned the same thing to my friend when he asked me to do this up and when he reminded me of that fact, it made sense. :)

Badger Blades has decided to do the shirt with but one small alteration. Instead of the letter being signed "Phil", it is signed "W.Z." in honor of the late Warren Zevon who's song inspired the idea. :)

Thank you, everyone, for you input, it was most helpful.

does badger blades have an online presence, or at least a catalog of their weapons? I dare say I am more interested in the swords than in the t-shirt....
