Read Naomi Novik's Empire of Ivory. Best book in the series, barring the first one.
And Lawrence Watt-Evans The Spriggan Mirror. 9th in his Ethshar series. A trifle pedestrian- I think I would have liked it better as a teenager.
I've ordered Dave Duncan's Seventh Swordsman series (or is it Seventh Sword?) I read it years ago, but was thinking about it recently. We'll see if it is as good as I remember!
