[SERENITY RPG] Redridge and Beyond

Jones walks over to the collasped mine shaft. He looks for a few minutes and begins placing the remain mining charges. "I was learnin explosives to help blow up bank vaults before Mason there caught us. I think I got it, we best be getting back."

He runs you off to a safe distance, and hit the detonator. There is a loud explosion followed by rock fragments and dust. A few moments later you here some coughing and some talking in Chinese and English.

"Who's there." <caughing> says a voice from the cave.

You all see an older chinese gentlemen walking out of the cave all covered in dust. Behind you see movement of many people. Some look like they are bleeding.

"We have some injured, if you guilders were better shots you might have killed more of us." Says the man out of the cave. He looks around

"You aren't from the guild are you. Doctor Hitchcock, Shepard is that you? Please help these gorram guilders opened fire on us as we were running in the cave. We have a couple of injured. Please hurry."

[This took about 15 minutes to set the charges and blow the entrance]

John retrieves the three plastic chests from the compartment in the floor under the desk. He places them on the desk and if they aren't locked, he opens them, to see what's inside.

2 of them are about a 1/4 full of gold bars. The other box is about 3/4 full of Gold bars (this is the box that goes to Mayor Ainsworth)
 



Victor works on those who don't look like they'd make it back to town. Once everybody who is in immediate danger of dying is taken care of, he yells to the others.

"We best be gettin' out of here. There's an ASREV on it's way to find out what happened. I sure hope the rest of you who ain't been doin' nothin' have gotten rid off all the evidence."
 

Demetrie moves into the mine to help where he can. he doesn't know much of anything about medicine, but he can help cover wounds for the doc, or help sort out who is hurt and who isn't.
 


ooc: Going to rap this senerio up then move on to the next one. The hurricane may hit close to me and I don't know if I will have power or not so I figured I would advance the story

Thier are 2 dead minesr 4 wounded and 18 other miners. They will help you hide the bodies in the mine. They explain to you that Ainsworth requires a payment every 4 weeks. Thats the monthly payment in his chest. They usally fill all 3 put this was a bad couple weeks. They don't like paying off Ainsworth but they do it. No guild involvment means they don't have buy liscens, taxes and upgrade certain equipment. The 2 families almost have enough money to buy a ship for all of them and fly them off Rust.

You load up the wounded and Prisoners onto the shuttle and fly it back. (Gren Average Int+Pilot roll discovered that ASREV could track the shuttle but you disables it) The others get onto the mule and trailer and those who can't fit are able to walk to Redridge.

In town Cole is there to meet you. The miners are greeted by thier families and they all thank you for you help. They will offering a nice meal tomorrow as gratitude. They have a pig they have saved for a special occasion and will slaughter it for a nice wholesome (real) meal. Cole and few other cronies take the shuttle and the 3 prisoners.

You get your 350 Platinum Coins each PLUS a resupply ship is on its way here. Ainsworth has aggreed to let you order gear (weapons, armor any other equipment you might want) at what it costs him, no additional mark up. The ship will be here in 6 days.

Victor you will be healed completely. A 2 1/2 surgery allows you to remove the bullet from Gren and he will heal, will take about 12 days to be completely heal.

NOW if you want to something special at the mine, or in town up until the Supply ship lands in 6 days tell me now.
