Very fond memories of that show, especially the seasons with John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, and Dave Thomas.
Zontar! Or, the complete title: "Zontar! Thing from Venus" - that even won the "People's Global Golden Choice Award" for best movie!thatdarncat said:For some reason the only re-runs I see are the episode where the station is taken over by the lettuce from space.Barendd Nobeard said:I just thought of one I really, really, want. Goodness, I just checked the IMDB, and in 1983, SCTV closed out the "Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program" category at the Emmy awards. All five nominations were for this show. Wow. I don't put much stock in awards shows, but to close out a category is almost unheard of (although "The Cosby Show" once closed out the "Guest Actor in a Sitcom" category--Roscoe Lee Browne ("Box" from 'Logan's Run') won that year).Barendd Nobeard said:Zontar! Natalie Cole was on that episode. And Hank Bain - Conrad Bain's brother.
