Seriously, though, do you prefer homebrews?

Do you prefer homebrew or boxed settings?

Darn there is no "Other".

I use published settings to run homebrew adventures, and published adventures in a homebrew settings, and some times use a published setting with a published adventure (usually for a different setting) both so heavily modified that it almost is homebrew.

...and I guess I'm not alone in this.

A good DM knows when to steal a good idea.

Hey, want some maps?

Are you serious? I'm sweating bullets over a city my players will arrive in two sessions from now. (We play once a month, so that won't be until October) I do fine with villages and overland, but cities? I suck, and I hate it. I'd gladly take some help.

What about my choice?

I run a homebrew and a FR campaign! Where's my "both?" That said, I much prefer my homebrew, cause it's just what I want.

Ironically, my homebrew is an anti-Realms. It grew out of my dislike for the 2E Realms. I think the 3E version of FR is much better.

PS

Dang! I got so worked up about maps I forgot to answer the question.

I'm running a homebrew right now, but I don't think I ever will again. I just don't have the time to give it the attention it deserves. Probably when this campaign winds up, I'll switch to Kingdoms of Kalamar. Wicht has inspired me.:)

Aw c'mon. If you gotta go published get Scarred Lands. :)

/me removes surrogate Nightfall hat.

Hmmm, where's the option for "Running the Adventure Path modules in slightly tweaked for no reason Forgotten Realms"?

[x] Lemon Curry
is my pick.

That would be option #2 - I run boxed settings. :)

I have had great fun running the Forgotten Realms (3 successful and long campaigns) but I have been running exclusively homebrews for the last 4-5 years. I look to go back to the Realms one day just to see how it goes using the 3e rules. :D

Note: I miss the old 'box sets.' Not that I have anything against the new large book format.

Here's one.

Here's another.

I got more, just not posted.

But that's how good I can be. I'm more than happy to do something for you -- but if you need something drastically better than those, sorry, ButteryGoodness, I'm just not that talented.

You're welcome to use one of those above, of course.
