Our game-nights are planned for four hours, but last night we ran six hours.

Once a year I play for about eight or nine hours at a local con.

4 hours? Seems awful short to me. I generally think 6 is ideal, as I start getting tired after that. My group tends t go for 4-5 hours due to RL, but I would prefer that it be a bit longer.

I do notice that our group's math skills deteriorate rather quickly after 4 hours, and definitely after 6.

My group generally meets at around 7:30 or 8 and plays 'till about midnight. That's when most of us turn into pumpkins because of work the next morning.

I don't think I've ever played in any session longer than about 8 hours and I know I've never run one that went longer than 6.

I voted 3, but that isn't always the case. I try to stick to the 3 hour mark because everyone is attentive until then. Going over seems like I start to loose people. However, we have had really good sessions that extended to close to 6 hours probably. I definitely remember playing all day for 12 hour sessions many years old before being a grown up, lol.

4-5 hours is the sweet spot for me. Might do 3 or less if I'm running a game at a con and need to keep the ticket price down. On the other end, I'm neither young enough, nor able to pump myself with enough artificial awakeners to deal with too much "marathon" gaming.

I do eight hour sessions once every two or three weeks, depending upon scheduling. We play Saturdays from 12:30 to 8:30. We don't strictly do eight hours worth of gaming as we like to have dinner in the session. A while back, in another campaign I used to play four hour sessions on weeknights every week.

For me, it's not worth my time, if there's a scheduled game for less than four hours.

Four to five hours is what we do, I find that I tend to get tired after that and the DM's headache sets in. Players also get tired to.

It's not short as we make the most of our time and have short breaks to keep alert. We also allow time to socialise before and after the game as once we start playing your full attention is needed.

I am in two campaigns that run in the 3 or less to 4 hour mark. A Saturday morning game played online with a group that includes players in Qatar and Taiwan, so the time differential means we can only play for about 3 hours. I am also in a Friday night game in which some players can't arrive before 7:30, so we usually run until about 11, though we've run until 1 a couple of times.

I am in one campaign that runs right around a 4 hour time slot twice a month on Saturday afternoons.

I run a campaign that meets about twice a month for 6-12 hour sessions. We generally eat lunch together and hang out, so the game starts around 12:30 or 1, we take an hour or so break for dinner, and we'll finish around 8 most days. We'll end earlier or start later if someone has plans, and we've run to or past midnight on at least three occasions that I can recall, always related to a climax of a plot arc.
