Shackled City - Ready for Pre-Order. Will you be getting a copy?

I'm considering purchasin this at GenCon. I don't like that it jumped up an extra $10, but where else can you find a campaign long adventure in one book?

What is "Shackled City?"

:\

Hi Shaman, did you click on the link in my first post?
It was an adventure campaign (adventure path) called 'Shackled City' that was published in parts over 11 issues of Dungeon magazine. It starts the characters at first level and can take them all the way to 20th I believe. Paizo recently compiled all of the adventures in the campaign, tweaked it a little by adding some more matieral/maps, etc and are releasing it in one 416 page hardcover book.

Hope that helped.

I just picked up Dungeon #124, and on the strength of "Age of Worms", I plan to subscribe (pending my wife's permission. God I suck).

Remember, it is easier to ask forgiveness later than to ask permission now.

Who will be selling it? Paizo-direct only, or elsewhere?

I think the pre-orders are for those that really want it on day 1. Honestly, I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to get one if you want one. I think they are trying to create a little stir by telling everyone to preorder so they can boost their initial sales a bit. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that (or if that's even their motivation) but I doubt you'll have a problem getting it through Amazon after GenCon for example.

I'll definitely pick it up (I love adventures, especially big ones) -- though I won't pre-order. Who will be selling it? Paizo-direct only, or elsewhere?

Paizo has said that it will be sold through the normal book channels. FRP Games, for example, is selling it as a pre-order now.

Shackled City will be sold through the hobby channel and online, but we are not currently selling it through the book trade. We are asking people to preorder it either from their local retailer or through us, simply because the orders we have received through distribution make it highly likely that your local retailer will sell out super fast, or be unable to pick up the copy from their distributor because demand will far outrank supply. My guess is that it will take between 7 and 12 days to have the channel restocked with the book down to the local retailer.

There is a retailer preorder form you can download from paizo.com and hand to your local retailer. This isn't marketing hype. We really want to make sure that you can get the book when it comes out.
