Which 3.5 edition book may I locate this race? They're mentioned in the shadow magic section of tome of magic.

They're in the Fiend Folio on page 150. I don't know if they're featured in other 3.5 material as well. If you want an 'alternate reality' version of them, or just some more fluff to incorporate, you can also check out the 4E MM page 230.
